Autoclave Sterilope Satchels - Economical medical packaging.
The Sterilope Satchel is a sterilisation-grade, gusseted paper satchel designed for packaging and sterilisation of medical instruments and supplies. It is part of the Guardian / Sterilope line of autoclave bags, widely used for steam, ETO-gas, or gamma sterilisation.
The Sterilope Satchel is intended for packaging medical and surgical instruments for sterilisation and storage, especially in hospital CSSD (Central Sterile Services Departments), clinics, laboratories, and other environments requiring aseptic presentation. The gusseted bag allows for bulky or irregular instrument sets. After sealing and sterilisation, the satchels maintain a sterile barrier until point-of-use, protecting instruments from contamination and ensuring sterility integrity.
Key Features:
- Manufactured from 60 g/m² sterilisation-grade medical paper (paper side) compatible with medical sterilisation.
- Gusseted bag design (side gussets) to accommodate bulky or irregularly shaped instrument sets.
- Heat-sealable top strip using sterilisation-resistant adhesive/glue — ensuring sealed barrier after sterilisation.
- Conforms to sterilisation packaging standards: EN ISO 11607 and relevant local standard AS 1079.3-1994
- Steam-indicator printed (or compatible) to show exposure to sterilisation cycle.
- Economical, disposable, and suitable for single-use packaging of instrument sets.
Method of sterilization:
- Steam, EO-, FORM and gamma-ray sterilisation
- The paper complies with EN ISO 11607 and AS 1079.3 - 1994
- Non toxic Steam Indicator
- Sealing Temperature: The sealing temperature should be approx. 180°C. For paper bags rotary sealing machines are most suitable.
- The sealing temperature should be approx. 180°C. For paper bags rotary sealing machines are most suitable.
- Not for plasma-Sterilization
Sizes: Standard sizes to AS 1079.3-1994 with a heat seal-top
Method of use: Paper bags should only be filled to 3/4 of their capacity. A free space of at least 3 cm from the seal area should be maintained in order to avoid stress on the seal. After sealing, the filled bags should be placed in a container (e.g. sterilization basket), so they are supported by one another.
Sealing: The sealing temperature should be approx. 180°C. For paper bags rotary sealing machines are most suitable.
Sterile removal of contents: Scissors should be used to cut and remove the contents. It is not desirable to peel open paper bags and maintain a good aseptic presentation. Avoid tearing open bags, as this can lead to the generation of undesirable particles.
STERILOPE and GUARDIAN paper bags are in accordance with EN ISO 11607 and AS 1079.3-1994
We recommend for sealing: Polystar Heat Sealers.
